Review for Self Enquiry Life Fellowship, Penn Valley, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

In the middle of 2009 my family doctor and her husband invited us to a public program in the India House, Houston where Swami Vidydhishananda Giri was the speaker. My wife and I attended the discourse of Swamiji and we were thrilled to listen to his high spiritual talk. His presentation in english was extra ordinary. His soothing voice and depth of knowledge of Sanskrit language and the Vedantic philosophy were par excellence. Since 1972 in the USA I have attended lectures of Swamis and spiritual leaders of various organizations. I can say without any doubt that Swami Vidyadhishananda is on the top.

We started attending Swamiji's Fellowships in private houses of his devotees. We got a chance to sit in private after one talk and I said "Swamij, I am looking for a Guru for so many years but I did not find anyone so far...." He stopped me and said, "You don't look for a Guru, Guru looks for you." I asked him immediately, "Would you accept us as your disciples". Without hesitation he said 'yes'. He asked us to come the next day for our evaluation. He talked to me and my wife separately and asked us to come for Initiation. We were thrilled to learn that we are accepted by a Himalayan Monk to be his diciples. Swamiji initiated us in Kriyamantra, in the tradition of the lineage of Mahaavatar Babaji or Trayambaknath.

We know our life was totally changed after we took initiation from Swamiji. I started working with the non profit organization - Swamahiman, as a volunteer. Swamiji is the President of the non profit organization. Since I was 10 year old I have worked with non profit organizations but Swamahiman comes on the top. Swamiji formulated the Swamahiman based on the tenets of Atharva Ved. The method of voluntary work is par excellence. Seva is the central theme of the organization. We don't say "Can I help you?", we are trained by Swamiji to say "How can I be of help to you?". To serve is our duty.

Swamiji is very particular for the preservation of environment. He insists on not to use plastic cups and dishes. He is a very talented musician. His recitation of Sanskrit sholaks is very soothing and uplifting. He is very particular about the correct pronounciation of every word in the shloka.

Swamiji is very caring for his devotees. My wife had back surgery and then she got infection. Swamiji told me to take her to one Ayurvedic Hospital in Tamilnadu, India. He gave us complete details of the hospital and the doctor. We went to India and she was almost cured of her back aches and Pakinson. Even when we were in hospital and we returned to USA, Swamiji will call and inquire about how she is doing.

I started working with Swamahiman as a volunteer. Swamiji asked me to attend the Foundtion Day of Swamahiman in September 2013. He asked me to take responsibility of Member of the Board of Directors from Houston area. I am so happy to work with Swamiji as I am exposed to the great traditions of Vedanta and the glorious history of India.

The Swamahiman is doing outsatnding work of preservation and promotion of the Sanskrit language and the Vedic traditions which are very essential for the mankind to preserve the values of humanity and uplifting the humanity to Divinity.
