Review for The Dog Alliance, Cedar Park, TX, USA
I have been involved with Austin Dog Alliance (now The Dog Alliance) since 2012 and I can say unequivocally that I have never seen a more devoted group anywhere. These folks strive constantly to improve conditions for individuals in the community via the influence of dogs: dogs helping children enjoy literacy, helping differently-abled young adult develop work skills, training therapy and service dogs and teaching, always teaching how to make the lives of dogs, and people via dogs, better every day. They send therapy dogs to hospitals, schools, courtrooms and nursing homes quite literally on a daily basis. Here is service in action. Kudos!
Review for The Dog Alliance, Cedar Park, TX, USA
This is an amazing organization led by a truly inspired woman, Debi Kraker. They have over 300 volunteers who serve the community with pet therapy visits to schools (Bow Wow Reading), hospitals, retirement and nursing homes and special events around Central Texas. They rescue and place dogs in homes with an almost 100% success rate as they take the time to carefully home train the dogs and screen the families with whom the dog will live. Their services to families with children on the Autism spectrum is the gold standard and they have a Youth Association for teens that works with and supports them and other animal welfare organizations throughout Central Texas. I have never enjoyed volunteering as much as I do with the Austin Dog Alliance.
