Review for Dancin Power, Oakland, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

As a former Dancin Power teacher and current board member, I've witnessed the huge positive impact Dancin Power makes on hospitalized children and their families. Dancin Power gives all hospitalized children, regardless of their medical condition, the chance to express themselves through movement and music. I've seen hospitalized children who were initially sad and scared have their moods transformed through Dancin Power's special adaptive classes. By the end of class, they're smiling, giggling, and looking completely uplifted. Through Dancin Power, they transform from sick or injured patients back into fun-loving children. I've been proud to support this innovative organization with its effective and wonderfully compassionate mission since its inception a decade ago. I look forward to continuing to helping it grow and increasing its impact for decades to come.

Rating: 5 stars

Dancin Power is a unique and inclusive program that enables sick and injured kids in hospitals to feel the joy of dancing and artistic expression despite their illnesses and injuries. As a board member, teacher, and volunteer, I have seen Dancin Power transform the sadness on little faces into beaming and giggling playfulness, restoring the children back to their natural states. I've also seen entire families uplifted by the experience because they are welcome to participate with their little ones. In this way, Dancin Power is able to provide an oasis to both children and their families in the otherwise scary, sterile, and uncertain place of the hospital. I'm proud to have been part of Dancin Power from its inception and am excited to continue supporting the program so that one day, all sick and injured kids will have a chance to experience Dancin Power.

I am thrilled to be part of Dancin Power because of the tremendous service it provides to sick, injured, and hospitalized children. There is simply nothing more uplifting and inspirational than seeing those small faces ignite with the joy of dancing during their stay in an otherwise frightening, painful, and sad place. Dancin Power gives those kids an artistic outlet for their emotions during an extremely trying time and provides them with vital respite. Dancin Power fosters a sense of normalcy and a feeling of health through specially tailored dance moves that are within every child's reach. I am proud to be on Dancin Power's board of directors and work toward its essential mission.

Dancin Power gives sick and injured children the chance to feel normal and just be children for a while. When the music starts, it's clear that they're able to let go of worries and pain and actually feel good in their bodies. It's truly a transformative experience for the children and their families. During the classes, there is so much positivity, joy, and hope that it spills over to everyone around, even the hospital staff walking by. I am very honored to be a board member for Dancin Power and to have been part of the organization from the start as a teacher and volunteer. This organization has had a powerful impact on thousands of young people. Here's to many more years of uplifting thousands more.

Have more teachers and give more classes to reach even more sick and injured children!
