Review for Shanti Bhavan Childrens Project Inc, Bellevue, WA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I worked with Shanti Bhavan's admin team for two years and visited their original school twice. This is a remarkable place and they fully execute on their mission. Their students come from extremely vulnerable communities and they go through an amazing support system during their years at the school. Every visitor to the school witnesses how bright, healthy, happy, and motivated the children are to succeed. Their success is clearly visible in the college applicants and graduates they helped raise. Shanti Bhavan is a beacon of success in education and has stood the test of time over the last two decades.

Review for Impact Network, Brooklyn, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Impact Network is perhaps the most innovative education social enterprise working in Zambia at the moment. Its E-school 360 platform is a compact, efficient, and scalable solution to the education gap crisis, particularly in rural communities, that has the potential to be implemented throughout Zambia. Impact Network operates 10 community schools in rural settings and are establishing an 11th partner school. Per child, the system is cheaper than government schools and is exceeding expectations with the quality of education delivered. With the support of the Ministry of Education or a major multinational organization, Impact Network plans to be adopted among the 3500+ community schools that currently are struggling to serve the massive youth population of Zambia.

The organization is managed by a professional team, with a diverse board of directors whose backgrounds include venture capital, technology, and law. Proceeds from fundraising go directly to the schools and operational costs are kept to a minimal range. Hopefully the efforts being made by this fantastic organization will be recognized and supported to reach the scale it deserves.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Build out a larger domestic team in Zambia to gain further support from the government.
