My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for World Water Relief, Atlanta, GA, USA
I am privileged to be on the Board of Directors of World Water Relief. Two years ago my company was looking for a non-profit that was providing REAL substantial change to those in need. As a water company, we knew we had found the perfect fit with World Water Relief. Water for water! Last year two of our founding members joined the Board because we believed in what World Water Relief was doing and we were excited about the significant and worthwhile work to come.
Our mission is to significantly improve the health and well being of people by providing access to clean, safe drinking water thereby preventing diarrheal disease. By targeting schools in Haiti and the Bateyes of the Dominican Republic our holistic approach, centered on the UNICEF WASH (Water, Sanitation, Hygiene) principles, gives us a dynamic and immediate platform to bring health, hygiene, and comfort to students and their families. Our program immediately provides the highest possible impact for the most children over an extended period of time. When children are the focus of community health programs such as WASH in Schools, they are empowered not only to improve their own lives, but also to become agents of change in their families and communities at-large.
In addition to our relief work during the Haiti earthquake disaster and our cholera prevention program in the central plateau region of Haiti this past fall, we have been able to concentrate our future on where it matters most - the future leaders of these embattled communities. As our mission continues to grow, side-by-side with the students we serve, clean water will become not just a privilege, but a right.
