cylburn Arboretum
Review for Cylburn Arboretum Association Inc, Baltimore, MD, USA
There are many reasons I love Cylburn, Baltimore's arboretum. Across from Sinai on greenspring Avenue, cylburn is free to all and easily accessible to city and county residents. I have been volunteering since 1989, and have watched Cylburn get more beautiful and more wonderful each year. Cylburn has 207 acres with over 3miles of trails. The trails are fanastic any season, but spring is spectacular with all the native wildflowers in bloom! Fall brings great color, amazing fungi, leaves falling from the big leaf magnolias which are so tall, they are only noticed when the leaves are on the ground. Wnter is great for the architecture of the trees that can only be seen without their leaves. Plus the volunteer gardeners and city park people who maintain the greenhouses and the grounds are wonderful to work with. Many friends have been gained from my association with Cylburn. Come and see for yourselves.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Find donors who would contribute the funds to restore the carriage house, the inside of the mansion and leave an endowment to Cylburn that would help do exactly what only money can do. The volunteers will continue their efforts because they love Cylburn, but they can only do so much with thheir sweat and blood.
