I have been volunteering with DoD pretty much since they were founded. I have volunteered at many various events with the Hampton Roads Chapter. I have watched our chapter grow from doing only a few events when time allowed to a very active chapter that sometimes has multiple events in one day. We do many community events that allow us to tell the public about our cause. We also do all kinds of fundraisers where we can tell people about our cause, but also raise funds for our pet chit program and our expenses. We are always looking for DoD boarders to watch pets while military members are unable to care for them and making sure as many people as possible know about our organization to help reduce the number of pets surrendered due to military commitments. I have volunteered with a lot of organizations, but DoD has been my favorite to work with. The people who run DoD have a passion for what they do and they stay true to their mission. I love that DoD is completely volunteer based.

I have been volunteering with dogs on deployment since spring 2012. I help with tables at events and coordinate with other volunteers.
Dogs on deployment was founded by a wonderful dual military couple who devote a lot of time to helping pets and other military members. The whole concept of DoD is great. They bring people willing to help care for military pets together with those who need the help. They also offer great advice for military families, promote responsible pet owners, and provide some financial aid.
I believe dod is a wonderful organization. They help many military members and save many others from potentially being surrendered to shelters or rescues. This is a great organization to volunteer with at special events, to offer to board pets through, to donate financially to, and to promote on social networks.
