Someone recently recommended I attend a networking function with the author Noah Alper as I am supposed to lose my job in 3 months. I met a lot of people who were either in a similar boat as myself, were already unemployed, or were looking to expand their business. I also enjoyed Mr. Alper's talk. Since then, I attended a Connect to Care workshop and I am scheduled to meet with a counselor to get financial advice. There are many other workshops I intend to join... resume writing, LinkedIn, perhaps even a Yoga class. All this is making me feel a little less frightened of what is coming my way in the job market. I am amazed and impressed by all this organization is doing in these difficult times!
