Review for Semper Fi & America's Fund, Oceanside, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Our 19 year old USMC son was wounded horribly in Afghanistan in 2011, losing both legs above the knee. Semper Fi made it possible for my husband and me to be with him while he recovered. Both of us are small business owners and we would newer have been able to afford to take as much time off as we did if it were not for the amazing people in this organization. All they wanted to know was how they could help. When i mentioned that it would be great if i could work on my books on the train while travelling back and forth, they bought me a laptop so i could do just that. And they continue to check in with us and help if we need extra funds for modifying our home to be more accessible for our son. No paperwork. No questions. No wasted time. Just like the Marine Corps: the very best, and there when you need them!

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

not change a single thing.

Review for Yellow Ribbon Fund Inc, Bethesda, MD, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Yellow Ribbon Fund was wonderfully supportive to my family when our son was severely wounded in Afghanistan. We spent long hours by his bedside and many weeks in a strange city agonizing over his recovery and future. Yellow Ribbon Fund helped so much by easing the stress in many small, but important ways. We were treated to massages, free brunches at a lovely hotel, hair styling, manicures, and much more. No one could restore my son's legs, but this charity helped to ease our stress so we could show him the hope and smiles he needed to see.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Wouldn't change a thing.
