Review for Partners in Torah, Passaic, NJ, USA
Partners in Torah set me up with a learning partner across the country. Despite difficulty scheduling learning sessions with a 3 hour time difference, both I and my partner stuck with it. After only a few weeks, I found myself caring about someone 3,000 miles away that I had never met. Less than a year after we started learning, when I was hit by a car, I could hear similar concern mirrored in his voice. Our conversations deepened, and we shared not just Torah thoughts but life experiences, and I finally met him in person at my wedding. All of this came from a few phone calls by volunteers, who themselves have never met my partner or myself. In addition, they regularly follow up on our progress, making sure that we are indeed production as a pair and making themselves available to address any issues that may come up. Partners in Torah is a very impactful organization helping Jews reconnect and deepen their connection with their rich heritage and fellow Jews.

Create or utilize an existing video conferencing service for partners to enable the partners to actually see each other while they are learning.
