Review for The Wild Animal Sanctuary, Keenesburg, CO, USA
I'm unable to physically visit the Rocky Mountain Wildlife Conservation Center due to poor health, but I try to keep up with it via the Internet, and have seen it featured on Animal Planet several times. I don't think enough favorite comments are even possible. It's through them that I learned how extensive is the problem of amateur keeping of dangerous and wild predators. I also cannot begin to fathom how much it costs for their care. I find feeding several cats and dogs (the domesticated, mongrel types) and their vet care all I can handle. I'd LOVE to someday visit the sanctuary, and would hate it that'd have to close due to a lack of funds. In my opinion, the federal government should provide some funding, since it's largely the fault of lawmakers that the breeding and/or import of these animals that has allowed this untenable position to become so widespread. I would FAR prefer mu taxes used in this manner than in most the ways it's currently wasted.
