Before I visited the Sanctuary in May of 2013, I thought it was just another glorified Zoo! However after seeing the size of the compounds, the interaction in the animals contained, which does NOT include pacing along restrictive small cages. My opinion was greatly changed. This is a great place for people to visit and a wonderful learning tool, to see how nature intended for all species to live and interact. These magnificent animals have the right to live. I am amazed at the dedication this sanctuary has to preservation of the animals it rescues and care for. Colorado and our people should be proud that this Sanctuary calls this state home. It is wonderful to see this place of peace and tranquility, instead of reading about cruelty, death and destruction of animals. I receive the Quarterly report, and read it cover to cover. The dedication of the staff and volunteers goes beyond what you would expect. They really care!
