Review for The Wild Animal Sanctuary, Keenesburg, CO, USA
RMWCC (or The Wild Animal Sanctuary) is amazing! Not only do they protect and save large carnivores, but they provide a genuinely unique experience for the guest. It's wonderful to walk a mile of boardwalk above expansive habitats (acres of prairie) and see the animals calm, in a very natural environment, interacting with each other and incredibly free and happy. I've known Pat (owner) since he had 21 animals and was not open to the public. But, as he can't say "no" to an animal in need, the sanctuary grew by leaps and bounds as did the need for funding and food. So, now that it's open to the public, it has expanded in careful and wonderful ways while still maintaining his main goal that it's "a home for the animals rather than a zoo for the people." Pat is a saint!
