Review for WeSPARK Cancer Support Center, Sherman Oaks, CA, USA
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in March of 2012. Medically, it was easy to find research and get information and support from doctors. But emotionally, I needed more. I had seen WeSPARK when I had directed in the neighborhood years earlier but never imagined I would need their services. From the beginning, I was treated with grace and dignity. Bonnie Franklin is a wonderful therapist I had worked with before. Tara and all the other facilitators in the in-treatment and post-treatment support groups are gentle, loving people who listen and who understand. WeSPARK gave me -- and still gives me -- a place to go to cry, to rage, to weep, to hurt and to heal. Without them, I don't know how I would have gotten through treatment and the past six months since my treatment ended. It's good to know their doors are open to me as long as I need them there.
