Review for American Committee For Melabev Inc, N Hollywood, CA, USA
At what age does a person become old? Is there ever a time when you look in the mirror and think, hey, I need a nursing home! If you would have asked my grandparents, they would have told you that they are 78 years young. But despite the fact that they always felt young, at a certain point, age catches up to you. My grandfather started to forget our names, and began to get disoriented among lots of noise and commotion. My grandmother was confined to a wheelchair, and while her mind was sound until the day she died, she was in tremendous pain. They sat at home in their apartment, getting old despite their efforts to the contrary. Then in stepped Melabev and saved the day! My grandparents were told about Melabev from a friend, and they started going every Sunday and Tuesday morning for years. Melabev kept them young. They sang, they prayed, they went on trips, and most importantly, they socialized with people who were also born in the nineteen-twenties and thirties, and appreciated things like cantorial music, yiddish songs, and hugging and kissing everyone you meet. The volunteers were wonderful, they really made them feel loved. Sundays and Tuesdays were the highlights of their week, their time to feel young again. Melabev did for my grandparents something that we, their family, could never have done, and for that, we all say thank you, Melabev, for providing this wonderful service for the elderly.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
absolutely wonderful. We all felt they really loved my grandparents. They constantly asked us how they were doing, and after my grandparents died, they came to the shiva filled with stories and good will.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
build facilities for their activities and expand the activities that they already have.
