Review for Boston Partners in Education, Boston, MA, USA
I volunteer in Boston Partner's in Education's Power Lunch program at the Blackstone School in the South End. I believe that the program definitely achieves what it sets out to do, which is to make lifelong readers out of reluctant ones, even English language learners and shy students. The program gives students who would otherwise not receive that much one-on-one adult attention the opportunity to develop their vocabularies and communication skills with adult mentors who are committed to their growth. The program is very efficiently run by Boston Partners in Education. I am looking forward to beginning the program again this October!

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I would just keep an eye out for any opportunities the program has to expand. The Boston Partners in Education staff is small, so growing the programs can be daunting, but I do think Power Lunch could be beneficial at every Boston Public School. The more corporations and business are involved in the education of our young students, the more resources and opportunities these students will have in the future.
