My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for Hyacinth's Place, Washington DC, DC, USA
I have been doing volunteer work in support of the homeless population of the Washington Metropolitan Area since 2004. I was with the other organization until it closed in 2007. In that experience it was obvious that several of those being served were mentally ill. When I was presented with the concept of Hyacinth's Place (HP) and asked to serve on the board, I had to accept.
Since then I have seen both the consistent & persistent dedication of Executive Director Urla Barrow & the staff & volunteers, and also the joy of the residents. I intend to continue to give both my time and financial support to HP as this is a work of Love, Courage and Faith that needs to continue to give Hope & Sustenance to the women that it serves.
