Review for WJCS-Westchester Jewish Community Services, White Plains, NY, USA
WJCS Staff at all levels continues to demonstrate how deeply they care about their clients. Seeing the smile on the faces on developmentally disabled individual who succeed at some task or are exposed to a Jewish experience is heartening. The raising of significant amounts of money (hundreds of thousands of dollars) by board volunteers to fund a group home for developmentally disabled clients, Chai House, populated by 6 young Jewish women who want to have an observant home shows how much the board cares. This agency is the go-to agency for so many of the social and mental health problems in our community. WJCS has managed to situate itself in so many synagogues and JCCs (43!) in Westchester in such a way that rabbis and synagogue lay personnel welcome them with open arms. As they say, "Kol Hakovod"!
