Modest Needs.org was there when all the government based organizations
and bureaucrats were asleep at the wheel. As Sandy devastated the entire
neighborhood, it was only Modest Needs.org and one other community based
organization that helped and did so with excellent communication, and
compassion.

BTW for those of you who do not know the Red Cross spends a mere 7% of funds
raised on disaster relief ( see their yearly financials), whereas Modest Needs
funds and addresses each client directly.
