During Hurricane Sandy last year I missed several days of work and therefore my pay from my job was shorter than usual. Being as though I am a single parent of 3 kids who depend on me to take care of them I was unable to pay my rent. I found Modest Needs while on google looking for programs to help me immediately. To my surprise I was able to do an application for a grant for my rent and it didnt take long at all to do. I was not trying to think negative but I definitely didnt think I was going to receive anthing because usually I dont. In as little as 2 weeks I spoke with someone from Modest Needs that let me know that I qualified for the grant program and it definitely came as a shock. I was so grateful and it came at the right time.
