Review for 622 Education Foundation Inc, North St Paul, MN, USA
As a former school district employee, I became interested in the 622 Education Foundation when it was developed in 1996. Their goal is to make educational opportunities available for all students in the North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale public schools. The Foundation has awarded more than $100,000 in grants to staff members who submitted grants to provide innovative opportunities for students. They provide $22,000 per year to schools in the district for an Angel Fund. This is a fund through which principals can assist students with food, clothing, medical care, supplies, etc., so that those students do not miss educational opportunities because of their families' financial situations. Finally, the 622 Education Foundation recognizes excellent students who graduate in the top 10% of their class at a special dinner where they also recognize a selected teacher and parents, and they receive a scholarship. I will continue to support the 622 Education Foundation's excellent work with my time, talents and financial contributions. In this difficult economic time, we need to do as much as possible to give students and staff our support. Carole Anderson

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
the faces of children who wore warm coats and mittens, the smiles of young mothers who baked their first pumpkin pies, and in classroom excitement when a teacher and students received balloons and the words, "You will receive your Grant!"
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
never be as successful as the current president.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
seeing the smiles of children and teachers who share the results of the work they could accomplish because of the Grant awarded by the Foundation.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
knowledgeable, kind, fun and creative. They have the students and staff in their minds as they attempt all kinds of fund raisers that allow the Foundation to succeed.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
create buildings filled with all the staff needed to keep class sizes at 15 students, provide every students with the necessities required to focus on learning, and provide the tools that are needed.
Ways to make it better...
the community at large understood what the Foundation is doing and the difference it has made.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
the current economic conditions that cause everyone -- businesses and families -- to reduce their charitable giving.
One thing I'd also say is that...
the volunteers who make up the Board of Directors for this Foundation are knowledgeable, honest, and dedicated to do all that is right for students and staff of ISD 622.
