My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for Impact Network, Brooklyn, NY, USA
I have worked with several different organisations in several countries as a volunteer. I have found this Organization very good in using their resources wisely and using innovative ideas to educate needy children. I have known about Impact Network for approximately four years. I had an opportunity this year to visit schools and meet staff of schools in rural Zambia ( Katete Province).
My observations are that they are providing education in under served areas with involvement and input from local residents. They hire local teachers who are qualified and their performance is observed by teacher trainers and based on trainers observations teachers are provided resources and training. They are using e-learning to teach students which is very cost efficient and also maintains consistency of implementing government prescribed curriculum.
There are still many areas in the province/country who can benefit form this type of schools which can reduce poverty.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Recommend Impact Network to add more schools and grades/standards so that more students can benefit. Also they should explore expanding this type of schools in other countries in Africa and Asia.
