I have been a supporter of Innocence Matters for 3 years now. My daughter introduced me to the organization when she began her internship there while she was still in law school. She came home each night thrilled and motivated to keep working. She knew early on the experience would change her life and when she talked about her time at Innocence Matters, her passion radiated from her and we in her family couldn't help but be proud of her and how she chose to expend her efforts. Under Deirdre O'Connor's mentorship, our daughter helped investigate and wrote sections of a habeas petition that successfully freed an innocent man. Her father and I were at the courthouse the day of the exoneration and our excitement and pride cannot be overstated. Innocence Matters addresses real, current problems in a unique way that gets results. Get involved if you can. I've seen firsthand: it's worth it.
