Review for Free Press, Washington, DC, USA
I recently spent a summer volunteering at Free Press as part of their Media Action Bootcamp. It was through this program that I was able to see (and contribute to) Free Press' efforts on a day to day basis.
As a masters student in Public Policy, I was initially skeptical of the role which non profits can have in changing public policy, but the dedicated and knowledgeable staff at FP worked tirelessly in their efforts to advance their policy goals and educate the public about the issues which are key to FP's mission.
Their strategy of inside/outside organizing really was effective (something which I initially doubted would be the case) and their entire staff was a pleasure to work with during my time there. I will certainly be supportive of FP going forward.
