Review for NECHAMA - Jewish Response to Disaster, Saint Paul, MN, USA
The Long Island region was brought to its knees by Superstorm Sandy. Disaster groups like NECHAMA came to our aid and lifted us up at a very devastating time not only showing us the ropes but also helping create the organizational teamwork necessary to address such large scale impact . NECHAMA's leadership and volunteers were professional and generous, motivating and kind, productive and sincere, efficient and compassionate--the complete package. They also welcomed local, unskilled talent to assist with relief and recovery work which helped toward community resiliency. We are forever in their debt. Review for VOLUNTEER SERVICE BUREAU OF WESTCHESTER INC (dba Volunteer New York!), Tarrytown, NY, USA
I always look to the Westchester Volunteer Center for the latest in volunteer programming. Their staff is expertly led by an amazing executive director, Alisa Kesten, who has a cadre of professional volunteer administrators, including two of my very favorite people in the industry, Judy Douglas and Jeanette Ginsbert. They lead the NYS Regional Volunteer Center network and have my highest respect and appreciation for all they do to advance the human condition and improve life circumstances of society as a whole through the impact and power of volunteerism!
