Review for Jconnect Seattle, Seattle, WA, USA
Jconnect has enhanced my experience in Seattle as both a community member and graduate student. Through my affiliation with the Social Justice League, I have seen first hand the work that Jconnect does both within and outside of the Jewish community. During the Yom Kippur holidays, Jconnect organized a group of volunteers to assist at a food bank. Jconnect has also been active in food drives, as well as contributing their earnings from their events to local non-profits - such as Lifelong AIDS Alliance, among others.
More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
their work with voter registration, efforts with food drives, their outreach work to the Jewish community in Seattle and beyond.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the connections that I have made with individuals outside of my graduate school community. I have met dynamic people from the Jewish community through Jconnect. Jconnect was essential in helping me expand my network when I first moved to Seattle.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
incredibly friendly, enthusiastic, and helpful.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
do an incredible amount of work - engage in more community activities, maintain consistent outreach to other local non-profits, allow those who do not have the funds participate more fully in their Jewish education courses and other activities.
Ways to make it better...
I have made more effort to be involved. Jconnect offers so many activities, so it is hard as a graduate student to commit my time to do everything.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
expanding the number of people that it reaches, especially as many of us "age out" of the organization or move away due to work or life changes.
