We have been members of FFF for several years. We are both retired biologists and do reptile rescue and rehabilitation primarily with turtles as well as educational displays at local events and attend national meetings regarding turtle conservation. Besides turtles, our other love is parrots. We have two parrots of our own.

When we found out about FFF, we just had to visit. We have visited all types of facilities from roadside zoos, to world class zoos, sanctuaries, etc. all over the world. We were blown away about how well the parrots were kept and the personal care the volunteers were giving to them. It was heartwarming to see the recovery of plucked and abused parrots over the years to parrots that will now come up to the side of their cage to see you to trust in a human being after what they have been though. We are particularly impressed about the design of the new flight enclosures with the water running through them and the misters. It is really great to see the parrots flying free in the large flight cages and interacting with each other.

Although hours away, we try to visit whenever we can. Every time we come, there is something new....new birds, new enclosures, new stories about them. This is a very special place that certainly got our attention that we will continue to support.
