Review for Areyvut, Bergenfield, NJ, USA
When we were planning my son's Bar mitzvah, we knew we wanted to incorporate chesed(kindness) into the celebration, but we weren't sure who to focus on. There are so many different organizations, and we wanted to choose an organization to which we would feel a personally connection. Daniel from Areyvut helped us come up with ideas that were suitable and along the lines of my son's ideas. Areyvut's website helps match organizations by interest and location. We were looking to do some projects in Israel and in the US. My son ended up doing a school supply drive for a youth program in Israel. He collected the supplies and brought them to Israel to distribute them. He also wanted to do something related to helping sick children. Through Areyvut's website, we found Ezer Mitzion in Israel and went there to help packaged cakes to give to families of sick children. Here in the US, we donated board games to a local hospital. Areyvut also helped us come up with ideas for that, as well. There is much out there, and it's nice that one orginization is helping so many people, here and abroad. Areyvut really helped add meaning to our celebration.
