Review for MAIA , Denver, CO, USA

Rating: 5 stars

We were introduced to MAIA in 2022. The importance of MAIA is that they educate girls from the indigenous community and prepare them to be the leaders of tomorrow. We spent a day visiting the school, talking with one of the Co-Executive Directors, the Director of the school, the Development Director, and several of the students. We were greatly impressed by the curriculum and philosophy, but what most impressed us was the students: confident, articulate young women who have clear ideas of where they are going and what it will take to get there. We joined as major donors in 2022 and pledged to continue through 2024, and we will probably continue beyond this initial period. We look forward to our continuing association.

Review for Plan International USA, Inc., Providence , RI, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Our foundation has completed three projects with Plan (Guatemala, India, Nicaragua -- and visited all three sites), and we are planning a project in Burkina Faso this fall. I have had sponsored children in these and many more countries over a period of 22 years. We have visited their HQ and have regular communication with them. I love this organization and talk it up every chance I get.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Just keep doing what you're doing.

Review for Free The Slaves Inc, Washington, DC, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Our foundation has completed two projects with Free the Slaves (Nepal and Ghana), and we spent a week reviewing their work in Nepal. Their particular strength is to find local groups that are finding effective ways to fight slavery and empower those groups. Extremely efficient method. They work on all facets of the problem -- community education / prevention, liberation, rehabilitation, public policy, reintegration, ... We remain enthusiastic donors from our personal funds.

Just keep doing what you're doing.

Review for WINGS Guatemala, Pueblo, CO, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Our foundation did a project with WINGS a few years ago. We are particularly impressed by their stunning efficiency and effectiveness. They can literally turn a family's long-term financial prospects around with a donation of $50 or so (Jadelle implant). We remain very enthusiastic donors from our personal funds.
