My Nonprofit Reviews

I am a volunteer with the Los Angeles Drama Club this summer, and was immediately put to work directing scenes and working with the kids. Not only did I serve as a guide and reference for them, but I had the opportunity to play along side them and experience their growth first hand. Whether it be at the Shakespeare intensive or at Shakespeare in the city, experiencing the kids' gradual understanding and excitement regarding Shakespeare and performance is one of the most rewarding experiences I've yet to have. I strongly believe that LADC gives it's volunteers not only a chance to explore working with kids and the responsibilities and challenges that come with it, but also a mutual respect and exchange of knowledge among its teachers and students. I am consistently in awe of what we accomplish day by day, and how impactful the art of Shakespeare can be at such a young age.
