I have been involved with the Shoes that Fit organization for several years. As a school social worker I frequently made requests for new shoes from the local coordinator. Later, when the coordinator resigned, I began to coordinate the project for my school district. This year we provided 40 students with new sneakers and one pair of prom shoes! What a difference having new, well-fitting shoes can make in the lives of children and their families. I have just retired from the school district, but I will continue to coordinate this wonderful project, with the support of the excellent organization, Shoes that Fit.
