Review for PETALUMA WILDLIFE AND NATURAL SCIENCE MUSEUM, Petaluma, CA, USA
Absolutely amazing. I am a high school student volunteer and docent for the Petaluma Wildlife Museum. I have been doing this since my freshman year, and i'm going into my junior year. I plan on staying here for as long as I stay in Petaluma. The museum is run entirely by volunteers, and the vast majority of those volunteers are high school students. It's a high school student-run operation, and it's fabulous to get the youth involved. The volunteers and docents [also all high school students] are very well trained, and we learn to be very good at teaching others about wildlife and wildlife conservation. The kids who work here are learning incredible leadership skills, public speaking skills, animal husbandry and care, and how to communicate with their peers and people who want to learn more. I have learned incredibly valuable life skills here, simply by doing it. The place itself is incredible, with an insane amount of animal mounts and almost 100 live animals covering a wide range of species. A fabulous place.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Improve the facilities. We could make the museum a little prettier [maybe add some more cool exhibits too]! And I would do something with the tide pool area out front. Maybe fix it up and restore it to its former glory!
