Review for Animal Compassion Team of California, Squaw Valley, CA, USA
ACT is awesome. I was going through cancer and just staying at home doing nothing, but feeling sorry for myself. My husband brought home a cat for me and it just opened my world. My husband and son then each got dogs, but they came down with Parvo. At the time Brenda Mitchell, the president of ACT, worked at the SPCA, ut she would take home Parvo babies and get them healthy. One of ours didn't even make it to Brenda's. The other one did and when she was ready to go home Brenda told my husband she had another one she just nursed through Parvo. Hubby took that one home. Shortly after, Brenda left the SPCA to start ACT with other committed, compassionate friends. We happened to run into her and she told us what she was doing and we offered to take a dog to foster. Well at one point we had 24 fosters some kittens and some were Mommies with litters. ACT was so helpful through the whole process. We even ended up keeping 2 of our fosters and adopting them. There were many tears shed when my fosters went to their foster homes, but they were tears of happiness. I love that I met the adopters. All their animals are raised to be inside dogs or some are raised to be working dogs with experience fosters. I love the Mommas with their new litters and I so miss doing that. I moved back East and I am trying to hook up with another rescue, but not found one like ACT. I love and miss you guys. Pat and John Harley

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Move back there so I could to help save more lives. They don't need to change a thing. They are growing and are supportive, compassionate and caring. I would maybe plant a money tree in their new yard at the Sophia Center.
