Grinnell Prize
Review for Global Press , Washington, DC, USA
Cristi Hegranes was selected as a 2012 winner of the Grinnell College Young Innovator for Social Justice Prize ("Grinnell Prize") for her work with Global Press Institute, advancing women's empowerment and quality journalism. Grinnell has seen the impact that Cristi's journalism training-to-employment model has had in the world, and values GPI's continuing efforts to create large-scale change for women through journalism. The women of GPI tell incredible stories, real-world narratives from their communities, and Grinnell proudly continues its relationship with Cristi Hegranes and the women of GPI.

Work with existing organizations and donors to increase the distribution of the news wire and support the creation of additional news desks. The women of GPI do an incredible job, and we hope more people continue to learn of their global efforts.
