My Nonprofit Reviews

LovesToSing
Review for Mitziut, Chicago, IL, USA
I attend Shabbat services on occasion. I'm part of the Rosh Hodesh group and we led services on the beach over the summer. I attended Rosh Hashana day services with the great musical talent of Layni Katz Meyers acting as chazzan.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
going to services.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
have paid staff to keep things running professionally and smoothly to take the burden off the Rabbi who does so much of keeping it all together when he should be concentrating on other things.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
singing Jewish music.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
very nice and dedicated.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
hire a full-time chazzan who would sing and play the guitar regularly. They could have their own building as a regular meeting place. They could offer adult education courses and bring in expert Rabbis for Shabbatons.
Ways to make it better...
services were a bit shorter.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Lack of a diverse group of volunteers and the financial resources to have a regular space and programming.
One thing I'd also say is that...
Having a paid and full-time Jewish Renewal chazzan and musicians for every Shabbat service would be the best thing ever!
