Review for The BASIC Fund, Oakland, CA, USA
As an administrator of a tuition based school, the BASIC Fund has been an overwhelming help in assisting our lower income families that would never have the opportunity to choose a school for their children. There are aspects of our school that are very desirable to families, but the "tuition wall" is a hard one to hurdle when you are working two and three jobs to make ends meet. With the opportunity that the Fund offers, more families are opting to start that climb over this wall and look to enrolling their students at a school that they choose for their reasons and not because of the district they live in. Thank you for all you do for the families utilizing your assistance.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Since we have so many new families that enroll late, either have some funds set aside for late registrations or allow these families to apply again the next year, even though they have been enrolled with us for a year.
