My initial experience with Binaytara foundation was not a pleasant one . I first came to know about the foundation through a medical research grant program of Binaytara Foundation. I had applied for one too but was not selected. I thought all my efforts had gone in vain, all the literature review I did, the task of writing the proposal was wasted .I was disheartened. But now I realise it is the process that is important and not the outcome. Even though I was not able to get a research grant it clearly taught me the importance of research and evidence based medicine. I have research awareness kudos to Binaytara foundation research grant application procedure. It is this awareness that encouraged me grab an opportunity to work as a district coordinator of an operational research on Neonatal and Maternal Near miss in Arghakhanchi district conducted by The Partnership for Maternal and Neonatal Health Project for Nepal,in collaboration with Health Right International and Mother and Infant Research Activities. I believe ,the research grant is great for all those recipient as well as those who apply but do not get one as it will be great learning experience for either of those .
