Review for History Fort Lauderdale, Ft Lauderdale, FL, USA
As an elementary teacher with 25 years experience, one of the most educational and fun trips for students was Pioneer Day at the Fort Lauderdale Historical Village. The girls are intrigued with the King-Cromartie House and dresse in pioneer attire and use scrub boards to do wash. Yes, they have fun! The boys enjoy the 1899 Replica School House and all their choirs to assist their first teacher, Miss Ivy Cromardie, to chase away the bugs and vermin before entering the schoolhouse in the 1900s. Now, they are rewarded with cold lemonade. The grounds are perfect for picnics and easy transportation. The New River Inn is stately with animated panoramas depicting the Indian Wars to 21st century tribute--Fort Lauderdale still is pioneering new achievements. It's good fun for the children, teachers and parents alike.
