Review for Metro Relief, The Colony, TX, USA
Metro Relief is a faith-based Bus Outreach to the homeless & poor of the DFW metroplex. They are also a food pantry that operates on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9-12. I have been volunteering there for over a year and spend more than 30 hours there working in the office. On Fridays I go on the Bus Outreach to Ft. Worth and take food, socks and hygiene kits to the homeless community at Unity Park. I started volunteering in the Food Pantry, but as more and more volunteer opportunities presented themselves, I found myself filling in wherever I was needed. I like to tell people that I came to feed others and ended up being the one that was "fed"! The services Metro Relief provides to the community and this area of Texas (& beyond) is something I have not seen matched by any other non-profit organization. Anyone (or group) looking for a volunteer opportunity(experience)would find Metro Relief not only a fulfilling experience, but also a true blessing.
