I began volunteering here at the start of the new year and I can honestly say that I have grown tremendously as a person and an advocate through my experiences volunteering for WOMAN, Inc. I have gained a deeper understanding into the complexities and difficulties of DV. Going through the 40-hour DV training has helped me grow as a person teaching me what it means to be in a healthy relationship and how to be a good peer. I have translated this training into many other facets of my life, such as being a better friend, role model for my family, tutor for my students, and, most importantly, an advocate for survivors of domestic violence. The support I receive as a volunteer is second to no other organization I have volunteered with. WOMAN, Inc. is an amazing organization doing amazing things and I am so glad that I have had the opportunity to work with them.
