I have been volunteering with Minis and Friends for eleven years and I absolutely love it! When we take these tiny horses to nursing homes and other facilities, people's faces just light UP! It such a rewarding experience knowing we are bringing smiles and happiness to others.

I've been volunteering with Minis and Friends for nearly a decade and I absolutely LOVE it! We take the little therapy horses to places like nursing homes, memory care facilities, children's hospitals, etc, and they make a HUGE difference. When they walk into a room, folk's eyes just light up! It's an amazing thing to see. The best part is when we go back to a facility and the residents/patients remember us and the horses. Sometimes they even have photos of us up on the wall! It is hands down the most fulfilling volunteer gig I have ever had.

I absolutely LOVE this group! I joined them in 2012 and have enjoyed every minute of it. We take mini therapy horses to places like nursing homes, Alzheimer's facilities, shelters for abused kids, Dell Children's Hospital etc. You would not believe the amazing effect they have on the folks we visit. The minute they see the horses their faces just light UP. The most incredible thing is the effect on Alzheimer's patients. We get reactions and interactions from people who have been non communicative for months and sometimes even years. It is an incredible thing to be a part of.

I've been with Minis and Friends for nearly 8 years now, and it has changed my life! I'm kind of a volunteer junkie, and when I found this group online I KNEW I had to join! I love animals, and I love helping people, so this was the perfect fit. I cannot begin to explain how wonderful it is to see the smiles on people's faces when we bring the tiny horses to nursing homes, Alzheimer's facilities, shelters for abused kids, etc. It really makes a difference in people's lives!

I have been with Minis and Friends for nearly 7 years now. I am so proud to be a part of this organization! The minis have such an amazing effect on the people we visit, especially those with Alzheimer's. I look forward to many more years volunteering with the mini horses!

I can't even begin to describe what this group means to me and what we give back to the community. We take the mini therapy horses to Dell Children's Medical Center, nursing homes, Alzheimer's facilities, shelters for abused kids, etc. It is hands down the most satisfying volunteer job I have ever had. There is no better feeling than seeing the smiles on people's faces when we bring these tiny horses to them. We lift their spirits, make them happy, and let them forget about their troubles for a while. The horses have an amazing effect on Alzheimer's patients - they often become lucid and present when we bring the minis in. The patients' families and care givers are always stunned, and they are so grateful for what our group does. I can't think of a better way of giving back to my community.

I have been with Minis and Friends for about 2 1/2 years. Joining the group was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I was looking online for more volunteer opportunities when I came across their page. When I saw I could help people AND work with tiny horses, I was ecstatic! I signed up right away, and went through the volunteer orientation. Minis & Friends does amazing work in the community. We visit Dell Children's Medical Center, shelters for abused children, nursing homes, Alzheimer's facilities, and even a women's correctional facility. The effect these little horses have on people is nothing short of amazing! People light up when they see the minis, and are just tickled when they get to pet them, groom them, and walk them. The minis get LOTS of hugs and lots of smiles. We bring happiness to the people who need it most!

Minis and Friends is the most amazing group ever! I've been with them about a year and a half. I wish I had found them sooner! I attend almost every event they have and I love every minute of it. Not only do you meet wonderful people who are volunteers, the visits themselves are just phenomenal. We go to nursing homes, Alzheimer's facilities, shelters for abused women and children, you name it. Our most recent event was the St. Baldrick's Day fundraiser for children's cancer. It just blew me away. The whole purpose of this group is to bring happiness to people's lives. These tiny horses have an amazing effect on people, and I am honored to be a part of it! I will volunteer with this group for the rest of my life. It's THAT good. :)

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Get more mini horses and more volunteers! There is so much good to be done.

I joined Minis and Friends last fall and I absolutely LOVE it! The joy these little horses bring to people is just amazing. Young or old, it doesn't matter, everyone responds to the horses. They are so well trained we can walk them right into a nursing home or a shelter, and they are just as comfortable as they would be running in a field. I ADORE the other volunteers and the owners. We always stick around after visits and chat. Volunteering with Minis and Friends has been one of the most satisfying things I have ever done.
