This organization has been a leader in environmental education of our children and citizens related to the legacy of coal mining in the northern and southern fields. This organization has been active in assisting with grants to aid in the characterization, monitoring, and design of remediation systems to manage this non-point source of pollution.

Review for POCONO NORTHEAST RESOURCE CONSERVATION & DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL, Dalton, PA, USA
This organiztion has been a leader in environmental and economic issues in Northeastern Pennsylvania since 1973. The Pocono Northeast RC&D Council provides various types of assistance such as watershed management, reclaiming abandoned mine land, forest management, land conservation, educational camps for students, and many other activities for a diverse representation of projects and programs. The assistance provided depends upon the needs and resources of the local group or organization that has requested the assistance. Recently, the Council has focused on efforts to support alternative and renewal energy, biomass, private well owner assistance, and watershed stewartship across Pennsylvania. The main problem with the organization is that is does not let the public know about all its great work.
