Review for Coalition To Abolish Slavery & Trafficking, Los Angeles, CA, USA
The one time we phoned to ask for assistance to help a trafficking victim, we were let down. The advocate, Teri, phoned the woman, told her that their shelter was full and then either hung up the phone or her call dropped. But she did not phone her back. Trafficking victims have already had their trust betrayed. Most would only have one call in them to make. I tried phoning CAST to get a hold of the worker who talked with the woman. I was told I would be called right back. It is over a week and no call. I left two messages for the executive director, who, by the way, makes over $125,000 a year, but was both times phoned back by someone else, who offered only vague explanations. Most of these anti-trafficking organizations perform about the same. Jada Pinkett Smith is on the web holding signs saying, "I free slaves." Her manager, who owns her anti-trafficking website, Don't Sell Bodies, does not return calls, nor does her webmaster return emails. I could go on and on. Most of this is a dog and pony show. Pay me $125,000 and not only will I provide dogs and ponies, but elephants and clowns.

Review for Planned Parenthood Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA, USA
Several things to consider:
1. I run a national charity for endangered children, so I know about charities and about how they are supposed to be run.
2. I am pro-choice, though I do not believe that abortion should be used as a cavalier method of birth control, and I am bothered by late-term abortions, except where the mother's life is at risk.
3. I believe that if there is a God, He would not allow a soul to be lost and if there is an abortion, He would make certain that it is placed in a child that will be born, and therefore also believe that pro-lifers really do not have much faith in God.
That said, the people at this Planned Parenthood are among the rudest, most unfeeling people I have ever encountered, and I have encountered a lot of people. In the case of a young woman who, as a result of her abortion, can no longer give birth to children, those in charge of Planned Parenthood—at least those I tried to speak with—couldn't care less. I even asked, were there some sort of reconstructive surgery that would fix the problem, if they would pay for it, to which came a lot of non-responsive answers. And this after I was hung up on several times by different people.
A center that deals with abortion, especially with young woman, many who are in their teens, needs to possess sensitivity. This is severely lacking at this Planned Parenthood; at least from my recent experience. And I phoned, not as just some random individual, but from another organization. Two thumbs down for this place. If I were a woman, I'd look around for somewhere else; perhaps a hospital. The people here may not use coat hangers to perform abortions, but I felt like I was being beaten up over the phone by one.
