Review for Mayyim Hayyim Living Waters Community Mikveh and Education, Newton, MA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

They make mikvah use comfortable for a first-timer. The space is beautiful. I didn't appreciate how great the space is until I was traveling and needed to use another mikvah. The mikvah guides give you as much privacy as you want and are happy to help, even with unusual requests. Aliza Kline, the director, does a great job of explaining mikvah use and design and its role in Jewish life.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

starting to use the mikvah regularly.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The accessible experience at the mikvah.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

offer more classes, have less of a fund-raising burden for mikvah maintenance, and lower the suggested donation.

Ways to make it better...

every single mikvah guide were as consistently great as the best of them are.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

many of their target clients don't know what the mikvah has to offer them. Not all of the member congregations promote use of Mayyim Hayyim. Many people see the suggested donation as a barrier to regular use.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every month

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2009

Role:  Client Served & I used the mikvah. I attended a few classes.
