Review for BERKELEY CITY CLUB CONSERVANCY, Berkeley, CA, USA
Two good friends took a tour of this "Little Castle" last evening. They were overwhelmed and astonished on this their first visit to the nationally recognized and landmarked building. It's classical architectural elements - gothic, romanesque, and moorish - are brought together in a beautiful six-story building that includes a theatre, hotel, restaurant and lovely indoor swimming pool. Come take a tour the fourth Sunday of the month from 1-3:30 p.m. and show your support for the non-profit Landmark Heritage Foundation whose mission it is to preserve the building and promote the legacy of Julia Morgan, its architect/builder extraordinaire. Miss Morgan was the first licensed woman architect in California and she is credited with over 700 projects.
