Review for Junior Achievement of New York, New York, NY, USA
Junior Achievement of New York is one of the best economic education organization’s I know. While our kids today are focused on tests and common core curriculum, there are some important skills and experiences they need, that they may not be learning at school or at home. How can an organization go wrong when its main goal is to EDUCATE and PREPARE our children to become financially literate, more confident and skilled in budgeting and managing money? Not just that, they help our kids to become college and career ready by teaching them the skills they need to succeed in a fast-changing world. And the best part? The programs are free to schools and community groups, and the JA lessons are fun and interactive for kids K-12. Kids have so much fun, they don’t even know they are learning important skills and information. I have volunteered for this organization for nearly a decade now. Every time I leave a classroom, one of the most consistent comments I receive from kids is how it was their BEST day EVER in school all year! So thumbs up for Junior Achievement of New York. If you are looking for a cool and meaningful volunteer experience or if you simply want to support a charity that is contributing to economically strong communities while preparing our kids to succeed in the real world, JA is the right choice for you.
