I am not sure that SYA classifies as a not for profit because it is run by the National Guard and the Orange County Office of Education: Needless to say, it makes no money. This Academy is for youth at risk between the ages oa 16 and 18. It is residential and is run by military standards. The education component follows the general California requirements for graduating high school. The program is an outstanding success with a fantastic staff on both the military and education elements. If you have a child that fits the description, apply now for the next class. If you want to help kids at risk, send them money. The money goes to support extracurricular activities not underwritten by the school district or the military. This is a wow program in every way.
