Review for Mylestone Equine Rescue a New Jersey Non-Profit Corporation, Phillipsburg, NJ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I can’t say enough great things about Mylestone. They open their hearts to horses that need help and give them the love, care, patience, nutrition and time they need to come out of their shell. Most have scars, physical or mental from the past but Mylestone allows them to heal. Such a great team of dedicated volunteers and Board. Top notch!

I have been a Mylestone supporter/volunteer for many years. I am still amazed at the love and care these horses receive. It is heartwarming to see their personalities blossom as they heal from the past abuse and neglect. The volunteers and Board are so dedicated it’s inspiring.

I have been a volunteer at Mylestone for about 20 years. Even after all this time I continue to be amazed at the level of commitment the volunteers and Board have for the horses they take in. The horses are typically emotionally or physically scarred. With the love and care they receive they come out of their shells and shine. I am particularly amazed when some of these horses, even after what they have been through, can be used in the grooming program with children. I highly recommend Mylestone to anyone looking to volunteer their time with the amazing benefit of being around wonderful, strong and proud horses and ponies who got an amazing second chance.

Mylestone is a wonderful organization that helps horses other organizations overlook. When watching the volunteers work at the farm, it is so clear how much they love the horses and the horses love them back. It is incredible to watch abused and neglected horses come into the farm scared but through the care of all the volunteers and Board learn to trust again. There is no better group of individuals to volunteer with!

I have been a volunteer for a long time and it never ceases to amaze me the resiliency of the horses. Many come to Mylestone abused and neglected. But no matter what they have endured, they learn to trust and love again. Some are so trusting even through their past experiences that they can be used for the grooming program. This is what makes me so proud to be affiliated with Mylestone and what has made me bring my friends and family into the Mylestone family. I've never seen a more dedicated group of people, especially the founder and her husband, who work day and night (literally) to ensure that these horses are happy, healthy and well cared for. Anyone who doesn't mind a little hard work for a great reward should look no further than volunteering for Mylestone.

I am amazed at the love and care provided to the horses at the farm. It is truly amazing seeing the horses grow to trust people again after the neglect and abuse suffered. Please consider volunteering your time. You won’t regret it!

Even after being a volunteer for many years I still feel that Mylestone's volunteers are some of the hardest working and dedicated. The people I've met through the years have inspired me and make me proud to continue volunteering my time.

One of my favorite things about the organization is their ongoing support of the community through their food drives and grooming programs. It allows the horses to give back after being given a second chance themselves.

Mylestone is always looking for new volunteers for farm work or fundraising and if you love hanging out with horses, what better way to spend your spare time?

I've been a volunteer for many years and I can't say enough about how impressed I am with the organization. The horses that come to Mylestone are neglected, starved, abused or a combination. These horses may come here with a broken spirit but learn to trust again and thrive on love, attention and proper care. It's been amazing to see the transformation of each of the rescues.

The organization would be nothing without the hard working and dedicated volunteers! Some work through all kinds of weather to feed, water and muck stalls while others may work on fundraising events necessary to keep the organization running. The people I've met through the years have inspired me and make me proud to continue volunteering my time.

I'm also impressed that Mylestone gives back to the community by working with the Alternative school children and collecting soup for the local food bank. It's a win/win.

I encourage anyone who isn't afraid of a little hard work with a lot of reward to think of joining our team of volunteers. There's nothing like a nuzzle from a furry muzzle!!!!

When I moved to the area 12 years ago I saw an ad for Mylestone in the newspaper and called. SusanKelly gave me a tour and was so passionate about the horses. I knew very little about horses other than I loved them and I started helping out with some events. I still primarily work the events due to my schedule but love being on the farm whenever I can. The horses are so well taken care of, and the volunteers are amazing. The dedication and love everyone has for the horses keeps the organization going. The before and after stories tell it all. Just look at how beautiful these abused horses become and what personalities they have when allowed good food and care. If you want to spend your time working hard but getting the reward of a big slobbery horse kiss at the end of the day...this is the place for you!
