Review for Mylestone Equine Rescue a New Jersey Non-Profit Corporation, Phillipsburg, NJ, USA
I am a long-time volunteer at Mylestone Equine Rescue. Volunteering a the farm, mucking & helping with the lunch shift, is so rewarding for me. The fresh air, the exercise, the beauty of these animals, I find to be very destressing and fulfilling with a sense of accomplishment.
As an Accountant, I was pretty green when I first started volunteering with the horses 6 years ago. But, a horse named "Sunny" was a great horse for my type. He knew exactly when, where, & what I was suppose to do. He has since passed on but was a big influence on my confidence with these great animals.
My favorite job duty on the farm is working by the "mini's", Patty & Lucy. When I first started volunteering, they were afraid of people & wouldn't let you touch them. Now, I look forward to hugging those cute faces!
Horses are majestic, beautiful to look at, and sometimes funny. There aren't many horse rescues. It is costly, hardwork, & personal sacrifices are made. I am so grateful for Mylestone being one of these special rescues.
As a big supporter of their work, I also try to help out with their many fundraisers when I can and I'm also a sponsor of one of their horses, Jiminy.
