Fleeing domestic violence is never easy. I was scared, without resources, and fearful of the consequences of leaving my relationship. But I knew I had to do something different for myself and my children. I was being stalked and felt like I could never get out. The Dove Center took me in and provided me with the resources that I needed to take the necessary steps to leave. I was vulnerable and lacked focus. The advocates and the counselors empowered me and provided me with the encouragement and strength to stand up for myself and recognize that I was capable of taking care of myself and my family. It was the most difficult decision of my life, I don't think that I could have made it without their support.
